Congratulations to all students who took part in the Regional Track and Field competitions held in Dangan on Thursday, 14 April and especially to those who won medals and qualified for the Connacht finals.

National Cross Country Championships March 2011

Students win International Medals 30 Jan 2011
Alanna Lally (left) won the U.16 800m and Claire Ryder came second in the long jump in the schools international Athletics Championships held in Cardiff. Congratulations, girls - well done ! And congratulations also to Athletics coach

Hazel Kilkelly who came third in the Senior Girls Regional Cross Country on Jan 27th.

And Hazel finished sixteenth in the senior girls national cross country championships. Congrats Hazel !
Maria McNamara who competed in the High jump, Long jump, 60m Hurdles, 800m run and shot putt won the All Ireland U.17 Pentathlon on 29th January.

Our Junior Girls Athletics team won the team event at the All Ireland schools track and field on 5th June 2010.

Athletics May 2010

First year student, Alanna Lally, seen her with her coach Kathryn Casserly, has captured the regional and Connacht schools’ minor girls’ cross country titles along with the junior girls’ regional 100m and 800m titles on the track.

Athletics Success for PCA students May 2010
Students from Presentation College, Athenry, recently competed in the Connacht Track and Field finals in Athlone on May 19 th . The junior girls’ relay team ran the 4x100m relay in an outstanding 52.3 seconds, breaking the school’s record. The relay members included: Jessica Heneghan, Maria McNamara, Alanna Lally, Claire Ryder. Maria McNamara won the junior girls’ high jump with a jump of 1.55m, which equalled Caitriona Farrell’s record.
There were also impressive performances from: Alanna Lally – 1 st 800m, 3 rd 100m, junior girls; Jessica Heneghan – 2 nd 200m, 4 th 100m, junior girls; Sinéad Gaffney – 3 rd 800m, junior girls; Emma Grady – 2 nd discus, 2nd shot putt, junior girls; Claire Ryder – 1 st 200m, 2 nd long jump, junior girls; Mary Heavey – 3 rd 200m, inter girls; Hazel Kilkelly – 4 th 1500m, inter girls; Fiona Gannon 4 th mile, inter girls, Katie O’Donoghue – 2 nd 800m, inter girls; Hannah Kindregan – 2 nd shot putt, 2 nd discus; Stephen Coleman – 1 st long jump, 3 rd 100m, minor boys; Paul Fitzpatrick – 5 th 1500m, junior boys; Sorcha Murphy – 1 st high jump, inter girls. The junior girls team won the junior shield. Well done to all


Athletics May 2010

Stephen Coleman is a first year student at Presentation College, Athenry. He trains with Athenry Athletics Club and holds the All Ireland U14 long jump title. He recently won gold for PCA at the Irish Schools Athletics championship in the 100m .
Stephen competed fro Athenry A.C. at the Galway County Outdoor Juvenile Championships on 8th May.
He won Gold in three events: - U14 80m, U14 200m, U14 Long Jump.
Congratulations, Stephen - Well done !
