EY Entrepreneur of the Year visits PCA October 2016

Presentation College Athenry students were delighted to attend their recent assembly where they met with Mr. Sean Brett, Founder of Steeltech Sheds who was crowned EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015.  Mr. Brett shared the story of his success and gave some wise words of advice to the budding Entrepreneurs in Mr. Cotter's Enterprise class.

Boys' Senior Football October 2016.
Congrats. Guys !
Our senior boys football team got their season off to a positive start with a win over The Bish on a score line of 2-11 to 2-6.


Galway Garda Traffic Corp surprise the PCA 1st Years ! October 2016

The 1st year students at Presentation College Athenry got a surprise recently when three members of the Galway Garda Traffic Corp attended their assembly area on a Garda motorbike!  Sergeant Ronan Mahon, Garda Conor Ledwith and Garda Barry Burke visited the students to talk about road safety issues and the importance of using ‘high viz’ clothing as the Winter mornings and evenings become dull.  All students in attendance were provided with a ‘high viz’ goodie pack.


Junior Boys' ' Football
26 September 2016
Our Junior Boys' football team got their season off to a winning start with an entertaining  5-12 to 5-11 win over St. Aloysius of Athlone.


Senior B Ladies' Football September 2016
Our Senior B girls got off to a winning start on Tuesday, beating St. Attracta's Community School, Tubbercurry.
Final score
PCA 4-13 St. Attracta's 3-6.
They are also looking well in their new jerseys which they won in the Lidl store giveaway.


Quirky Night’s Glamping Founder, David McGowan visits Transition year Students 13 September 2016

Entrepreneur, David McGowan of Quirky Nights Glamping spoke to Transition Year Students about his new business venture which has involved the movement of a large aircraft from Shannon Airport to a  glamping site in Sligo.  The project is not over yet as David told our students the full extent of his plans.
